First Seasonal Holly & Mistletoe Sale

24 November 2015

Nick Champion Auctioneer reports a very large entry of 3961 wreaths, 1022 lots of holly and mistletoe and 279 trees were offered at the opening 2015 sale at Burford Garden Stores, Tenbury Wells.

Trade on the wreaths was fast on the good quality lots whilst a large proportion were very poorly made and often stale which made for more difficult selling.

There is a bumper crop of both holly and mistletoe this year with quality holly easy to find and as a result trade was back a lot on 2014 levels.  Mistletoe quality appears to be very variable with far too much being yellow with un-ripened berries which affected the prices.  The better quality mistletoe was easy to sell.

A small entry of mainly second quality Norway Spruce trees attracted firm enough bidding considering the quality on offer.
